Centre Court or No.1 Court Debenture at Wimbledon: which to choose?

The two Debentures compared — the only legally transferable Wimbledon tickets

In short

Choose a Centre Court Debenture for the main stage, both singles finals and the very best seats at Wimbledon; choose a No.1 Court Debenture for a superb show court, a great atmosphere and better value. Many clients take both across different days. Each includes the lounges, bars and restaurants reserved for Debenture holders, and both are the only legally transferable Wimbledon tickets. The Centre Court Debenture — the main stage

A Centre Court Debenture opens the heart of Wimbledon. With roughly 14,979 seats, Centre Court is the most prestigious stage in world tennis: this is where, traditionally, both singles finals are played — Ladies' on the Saturday, Gentlemen's on the Sunday — along with the marquee matches of the second week.

The court has had a retractable roof since 2009: when rain falls or the light fades, it closes in around ten minutes and play continues under floodlights, sheltered from the weather. Debenture seats sit in the lower tier, closest to the net and aligned with the court — the most coveted seats of the tournament.

A Centre Court Debenture includes access to the facilities reserved for holders: lounges, bars, restaurants, garden, a dedicated entrance and parking. These spaces are part of the Debenture ticket itself — they are not sold separately. Remember that Debenture tickets are the only Wimbledon tickets the AELTC permits to be legally transferred or resold to third parties.

The No.1 Court Debenture — the great second court

A No.1 Court Debenture opens Wimbledon's second show court: a modern amphitheatre of around 12,345 seats, fitted with a retractable roof since 2019. It stages marquee matches, leading seeds and, often, the contests connoisseurs prefer to those on Centre Court.

Its atmosphere is reputed to be more intense, closer and louder — an ideal echo chamber for the great comebacks. For anyone who wants the thrill of a major court without insisting on the finals, the No.1 Court Debenture offers markedly better value than its Centre Court counterpart.

Like its cousin, a No.1 Court Debenture includes access to its own lounges, bars and restaurants reserved for holders, together with a dedicated entrance and parking — all included in the ticket, never sold apart. Here too, it is one of only two categories of Wimbledon tickets that may be legally transferred.

Centre Court or No.1 Court Debenture — side by side

Both Debentures share the essentials: the best seats on their respective court, the holder-only facilities, and the status of being the only legally transferable tickets. They differ mainly on the programme, the capacity and the price.

Which should you choose?

Choose a Centre Court Debenture if you are after both singles finals, the prestige match-ups and, quite simply, the best seat at Wimbledon. It is the connoisseur's choice for whom the theatre of Centre Court — its history, its roof, the hush before the serve — is worth the price premium.

Choose a No.1 Court Debenture if you prize atmosphere, the intensity of a great court and more favourable value. You will see superb matches in an electric setting, without paying the premium of the main stage.

Many of our clients don't choose at all: they combine both Debentures across different days of the fortnight — a No.1 Court day in the first week for atmosphere and seeds, a Centre Court day in the second week for the quarters, semis or finals. TGZ composes the sequence bespoke, subject to availability.

How TGZ sources both Debentures

TGZ Conciergerie, an independent concierge house, sources Debenture seats — both Centre Court and No.1 Court — privately on the secondary market. This is the legitimate premium route: Debenture tickets are the only Wimbledon tickets the AELTC permits to be legally transferred or resold to third parties.

We are neither a box office nor a marketplace, and we have no affiliation with The Championships, the AELTC or Wimbledon. We open access, privately, subject to availability: no specific match-up or player can be guaranteed.

Around your Debenture days, we orchestrate the London stay bespoke — a Mayfair palace, private aviation, a chauffeur, tables in town. Prices for both Debentures are always indicative and confirmed on request.

The Centre Court Debenture is generally the more expensive: it opens the main stage and both singles finals. The No.1 Court Debenture is more accessible and often offers the best value. Prices are indicative and confirmed on request, subject to availability.

Yes, and many clients do: a No.1 Court day for atmosphere and seeds, a Centre Court day for the closing rounds. TGZ composes the sequence of both Debentures bespoke, subject to availability.

Centre Court. Both singles finals — Ladies' on the Saturday, Gentlemen's on the Sunday — are traditionally played there. A No.1 Court Debenture does not give access to the singles finals, but to marquee matches and leading seeds.
