The complete Monaco Grand Prix guide
Dates, options, viewpoints, accommodation, transfers, budget — everything to plan your weekend.
The Monaco Grand Prix, held every year in late May or early June on the Monte-Carlo street circuit (4–6 June in 2027), is Formula 1's most prestigious event. To experience it well: choose your option (grandstand, Paddock Club, yacht or terrace), book early (ideally 9 to 12 months ahead), arrange accommodation in Monaco or on the Riviera, and plan transfers (helicopter from Nice in 7 minutes). This guide brings together the essentials and links to our detailed guides.

What is the Monaco Grand Prix?
Run since 1929 through the streets of Monte-Carlo, the Monaco Grand Prix is the jewel of the Formula 1 calendar: a narrow, twisting street circuit between the harbour, the Casino climb and the tunnel, where the smallest mistake is punished. It is also one of the most coveted society gatherings of the year.
When is the Monaco Grand Prix?
The Grand Prix takes place every year in late May or early June. In 2027 it runs from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 June: practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday (often decisive), the race on Sunday over 78 laps.
How to attend: the options
Four main ways to experience the race: the grandstand (an assigned seat facing the circuit, the best view-for-price), the F1 Paddock Club (official hospitality with paddock access), the yacht moored facing the circuit (the most iconic experience) and the private terrace on shore (a commanding view and comfort). The choice depends on your priority and budget.
Where to watch the race
The most spectacular viewpoints are Tabac and the Swimming Pool (seafront speed), the Casino (the legendary climb) and Sainte-Dévote (overtaking). The Fairmont hairpin, the slowest of the season, is ideal for photos.
Where to stay
In the principality for prestige and walking-distance proximity (Hôtel de Paris, Hermitage, Metropole, Fairmont), or on the Riviera (Cap-Ferrat, Nice, Cannes) linked to Monaco in a few minutes by helicopter. To be booked well ahead.
How to get there
The helicopter from Nice airport (about 7 minutes) is the fastest and most comfortable transfer, complemented by a private chauffeur. Train and car remain possible, but the principality is saturated on race weekend.
How much it costs
As a guide: a VIP grandstand starts around €990 a day, the Paddock Club between €12,000 and €17,000 for the weekend, a place on a yacht from around €7,800. Packages are quoted to order based on the option, location and services.
When to book
As early as possible: the best grandstands, yacht berths and circuit-view rooms often go a year ahead. The later you book, the smaller the choice and the higher the prices. Our detailed guides below go deeper into each topic; our concierge orchestrates the entire weekend.
