How Le Bal des Débutantes Works
Who invites, who is invited, why nothing can be bought: how the evening really works, drawing on public sources, and what an invited family can prepare.

At the Bal des Débutantes in Paris, the debutantes and their escorts are invited by the organiser, Ophélie Renouard. The organisation's website makes it clear: one can neither buy a ticket to attend, nor pay to take part. There is therefore no place to sell, no application to submit and no legitimate intermediary. Invitations are sent directly to families, several months before the evening; the organisation then sets the programme for the days of preparation. TGZ offers no place, no invitation and no application, and does not approach the organiser. For a family whose child is invited, we arrange the stay in Paris around the ball.
The short answer: the organiser invites
Le Bal is organised by Ophélie Renouard, who created it in 1994. It is she who invites the debutantes and their escorts, and it is the organisation that communicates the programme, the timings and the instructions for the evening to the families.
This guide describes how the evening works as publicly documented — by the organisation's website and by the press. One point from the outset: TGZ Conciergerie is an independent house, not affiliated with Le Bal or its organiser, with no official status. We know of no way around this and do not look for one.

No ticket, no paid application
Le Bal is not a gala evening at which one books a table. The organisation's website is explicit: one can neither buy a ticket to attend, nor pay to take part. Taking part is not a service one buys; it is an invitation one receives.
The table below sums up what really exists, and what does not.
| Route | Who decides | What it implies |
|---|---|---|
| A debutante's invitation | The organiser | Sent directly to the family |
| Escort | The organisation, with the debutante's family | The escort is often a brother, a relative or a friend |
| Buying a place or a table | Does not exist | One cannot buy a ticket to attend Le Bal |
| An "application" sold by an intermediary | No legitimate party | To be avoided: taking part cannot be bought |
Who the debutantes and escorts are
Some twenty young women are invited every year, aged roughly sixteen to twenty-two depending on the edition, from many countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. Each is accompanied by an escort, often a brother, a relative or a friend of the family.
We cite no names here, and we never will: the discretion owed to families is part of the way we work, whether or not their child has been invited.

When the invitations arrive
Invitations are sent to families several months before the evening — from the end of the summer, according to a published account of the 2025 edition. For the edition of 28 November 2026, invited families have therefore, as a rule, already received their invitation and are beginning to arrange the stay.
Once the invitation is accepted, the organisation sends the programme for the days of preparation: fittings, rehearsals, photo sessions, waltz lessons. It is from this programme that we build the family's stay, without ever changing it.
What we do, and what we do not do
We offer no place, no invitation and no application to Le Bal, promise no access and never approach the organiser on behalf of a family. Nor do we involve ourselves in what belongs to the organisation: the gown, the seating, the rehearsals, the programme.
If your child is invited, we arrange everything around those days: the palace, the journeys to the fittings and rehearsals, hair and make-up for the family, the father's or escort's white tie, family dinners, the chauffeur. Our page Bal des Débutantes VIP presents the whole.

No. The organisation's website states that one cannot buy a ticket to attend Le Bal. TGZ offers no place.
No, and one should be wary of anyone who claims to: the invitation rests with the organiser alone. TGZ offers neither invitation nor application; we arrange the stay of invited families.
The escort accompanies the debutante; he is often a brother, a relative or a friend of the family. The arrangements are a matter for the organisation, together with the family.
Parents are part of the evening — the opening waltz is danced by the debutantes and their fathers. The arrangements for each family are specified by the organiser.
