How to Get to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe?

The racecourse is within Paris, but on Arc Sunday tens of thousands of people converge on the Bois de Boulogne: chauffeur, shuttle, tram or jet, every arrival is planned.

In short

ParisLongchamp racecourse is at 2 route des Tribunes, in the Bois de Boulogne (16th arrondissement). On Arc days, free shuttles leave from Porte Maillot (metro line 1) and Porte d'Auteuil (metro line 10), roughly every fifteen minutes; the T2 tram serves Suresnes-Longchamp, and buses 241 and 244 stop nearby. By car with a chauffeur, allow some twenty minutes from the Right Bank outside busy periods, longer on Sunday; parking on site must be booked. For those travelling from afar, the jet lands at Le Bourget, an airport reserved for business aviation, and the helicopter flies to the Paris heliport at Issy-les-Moulineaux. The essential point: arrive before the races that matter to you.

01

The overall answer: arrive before the crowds

On Arc Sunday, the gates open in the late morning, and the majority of visitors arrive for lunch and the first races. The approaches to the racecourse fill up at that point, then again after the Arc and the last race.

The right arrival is therefore not necessarily the fastest on paper, but the one you can predict. We coordinate the whole journey, from your hotel to the entrance, with margins.

02

By car with a chauffeur

A dedicated chauffeur remains the simple way to experience the day: departure timed to the traffic, drop-off close to the entrance, return whenever you decide — after the Arc, after the last race, or later. The racecourse car park is booked in advance, subject to availability.

For a group, a second vehicle avoids waiting; for the whole weekend, the same chauffeur accompanies you on Saturday evening and Sunday evening, through to dinner.

03

Shuttles, metro, tram, bicycle

On Arc days, free shuttles leave from Porte Maillot (metro line 1) and Porte d'Auteuil (metro line 10), roughly every fifteen minutes according to the organiser. The T2 tram serves the Suresnes-Longchamp stop, on the other side of the Seine; buses 241 and 244 stop nearby.

By bicycle, free secure parking awaits at the main entrance. These options suit those staying in the west of Paris and travelling light; in formal attire, the chauffeur remains more comfortable.

04

By private jet and helicopter

By private jet, Paris-Le Bourget, an airport reserved for business aviation, receives the bulk of flights to Paris; on the Arc weekend, slots are planned early. A chauffeur awaits you at the foot of the aircraft to take you to your hotel or directly to the racecourse.

By helicopter, the Paris heliport at Issy-les-Moulineaux, in the 15th arrondissement, is the only authorised take-off point in the capital; it lies a few kilometres from the Bois de Boulogne. The final stretch is by car. We coordinate the flight, the welcome and the transfer, always backed by a road option.

05

The return, and Sunday evening

The return is prepared as carefully as the arrival. Many visitors leave just after the Arc, which loads the shuttles and roads; staying for the last races, then leaving later, is often the calmest way home. The racecourse closes in the evening.

On Sunday evening, the same chauffeur takes you to dinner, then to your hotel. Our guide Where to Stay for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe? explains how the choice of address removes a good share of the travel.

What to remember

A chauffeur from the Right Bank, free shuttles from Porte Maillot and Porte d'Auteuil, the T2 tram, a jet to Le Bourget, a helicopter to the Paris heliport: each route has its place, and all are planned ahead of the Sunday crowds. TGZ Conciergerie, an independent house with no affiliation with France Galop or with ParisLongchamp racecourse, and no official status, coordinates the arrival, the transfers and the chauffeur on site, on quotation.
