In short

The Serpentine Summer Party is the annual fundraising evening of the Serpentine, the contemporary art institution in Kensington Gardens, London. It takes place around the year's Pavilion, in recent years on a Tuesday in late June; the 2027 date has not yet been published. The evening is by invitation, and no place is sold to the public. The Pavilion, by contrast, is open to all, free of charge, from June to October. TGZ Conciergerie, an independent house, provides no access to the evening: it composes the stay around it.

01

The evening

The Summer Party is the annual fundraising evening of the Serpentine, which opened in 1970 in Kensington Gardens. It brings together its supporters and figures from art, architecture, fashion and business around the summer programme, through the gardens. The latest editions were held on 25 June 2024, 24 June 2025 and 23 June 2026.

For 2027, the Serpentine has not yet published the date; the evening is expected in June 2027. We update our guides as soon as it is announced.

02

Access

The evening is by invitation. The Serpentine states that its Patrons and the members of its International Council have access to it. No place is sold to the public. TGZ Conciergerie, an independent house, provides no access and does not approach the Serpentine. Our guide How the Serpentine Summer Party Invitation Works details how it really works.

03

The Pavilion

Since 2000, the Serpentine has commissioned an architect each summer to create a temporary pavilion, built on the lawn of Serpentine South. It is open to the public, free of charge, from early June to late October. The 2027 architect has not yet been announced.

04

The stay

The stay is composed around the evening: a suite in Kensington, Knightsbridge or Mayfair, tables held at the right hours, a private dinner on Summer Party night, a stylist, the Pavilion visit. Our guide Where to Stay for the Serpentine Summer Party compares the addresses, and our guide Serpentine Summer Party Dress Code prepares the looks.
