In short

The week of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2027 is organised around a few gatherings published by the organiser. The Motoring Classic, a journey in classic cars from Seattle to Pebble Beach, arrives on Wednesday 11 August. On Thursday 12 August, the Tour d'Elegance takes the Concours cars out on the roads of the peninsula; the public can watch it pass free of charge at the designated points. From Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 August, the Concours Village and RetroAuto, free of charge, bring together exhibits, automobilia and boutiques; from 12 to 14 August, the Classic Car Forum offers panel discussions by registration. On Sunday 15 August, the Concours on the 18th fairway, from dawn to the awards presentation. Around it, other organisers fill the peninsula.

Sunday: the Concours on the fairway

Everything converges on that day. From dawn, some two hundred cars take their places on the 18th fairway; the show field opens to spectators at 5.30am. At 8am, judging begins: you move between the classes — by era, by origin, by body style — while the judges examine each car.

From 1.30pm to 5pm, the winners cross the awards ramp, up to Best of Show. The Concept Lawn presents concept cars; new models are sometimes shown there for the first time.

02

Thursday: the Tour d'Elegance

Created in 1998, the Tour d'Elegance takes the cars entered in the Concours on a drive of some 70 miles (about 110km): it shows that they run, and the majority of participants take part. In 2027, it takes place on Thursday 12 August: the cars line up at 7am on Portola Road, in Pebble Beach, set off at 9.30am and return around midday.

The public can watch it pass free of charge, at the designated points along the route. It is a chance to see the cars in motion, three days before seeing them standing still on the fairway.

03

Thursday to Sunday: the Concours Village, RetroAuto, the forums

The Concours Village, at the corner of Forest Lake Road and Stevenson Drive, in Pebble Beach, is open to the public free of charge from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 August: exhibits, test drives, boutiques, places to have lunch. RetroAuto brings together vintage automobilia, art and books there.

From 12 to 14 August, the Classic Car Forum gathers figures from the collector-car world for panel discussions, by registration. Before that, the Motoring Classic, which leaves Seattle on 2 August, arrives at Casa Palmero on Wednesday 11 August in the late afternoon.

04

Car Week beyond the Concours

The same week, other organisers fill the Monterey Peninsula: historic car races on the Laguna Seca circuit, invitation-only or ticketed gatherings at golf clubs on the peninsula and in Carmel Valley, exhibitions by country of origin, auctions. Each has its own access rules, and some are strictly by invitation.

We compose with you the programme that suits you, and source the access open to the public, origin and conditions confirmed. For invitation-only gatherings, we tell you frankly: we do not sell entry to them.

Attire and comfort: a golf course by the sea

The Concours is experienced on a lawn, by the water. Mornings are cool, often misty; the sun is warm at midday; the evening turns cool again. The organiser recommends layers and comfortable shoes, made for walking a long time over varied terrain.

Elegance is encouraged: a light jacket, a day dress or a day ensemble, a hat. Sunglasses and sun cream; the chauffeur keeps the rest on board. The entry wristband is worn visibly all day.
