Opened in December 1999, the Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island some 280 metres off Jumeirah Beach, at Umm Suqeim. Its sail-shaped silhouette, designed by architect Tom Wright, houses a hotel made up entirely of suites, most of them duplexes.
The hotel closed in April 2026 for its first major restoration, planned to last around eighteen months. Interiors, suites, restaurants and leisure spaces are being reworked by interior architect Tristan Auer, with the aim of keeping the building's character. Jumeirah has announced a reopening in October 2027.
TGZ, an independent house, is following that date for you. Once bookings open, we will pass on your request according to the house's rules; until then, we suggest other stays in Dubai.
