London Fashion Week FAQ: every question, answered
Invitations, dates, budget, accommodation, logistics, style: the candid answers that prepare a London week.
Last updated 5 October 2026 · 9 min read
London Fashion Week is organised by the British Fashion Council (BFC), twice a year, in February and September, over around five days. The September 2026 edition (17 to 21 September) announced 47 catwalk shows, 23 presentations and 53 evening events; the next edition takes place in February 2027, with exact dates and the detailed schedule published by the BFC as it approaches. The shows are professional events by invitation: invitations are nominative and cannot be bought — any "runway ticket" offered for sale should raise suspicion. A VIP stay is composed around the week — hotel or townhouse, chauffeur, styling, tables, evenings — with access requests passed on where possible, never guaranteed. TGZ Conciergerie, an independent house with no affiliation to the BFC, orchestrates the whole on a bespoke-quotation basis.
The short version
London Fashion Week is organised by the British Fashion Council, twice a year — February for autumn-winter, September for spring-summer — over around five tightly drawn days. It began in 1984, in a tent outside the Commonwealth Institute in Kensington, with some fifteen shows; it later made its home at Somerset House (2009–2015), then 180 Strand. Today it is spread across the city — 180 Strand, Soho, Mayfair, Covent Garden, East London — with no single venue, and London is known above all for its young designers, its schools and the tailoring of Savile Row.
For the full picture — how it works, how to prepare, how to stay — our guide How does London Fashion Week work? The complete guide remains the starting point, and our guide London Fashion Week schedule: how does an edition unfold? details an edition hour by hour; this FAQ condenses the essential answers.
Transparency first: TGZ Conciergerie is an independent house, with no affiliation to the British Fashion Council, the designers or the organisers of London Fashion Week, and no official status of any kind. Every stay is established by personalised quotation, with availability and conditions confirmed before any commitment.

Access & invitations
It is the point every first enquiry raises, and it deserves a straight answer: the shows are professional events by invitation — press, buyers, designers' guests. There is no public ticketing; invitations are nominative and issued by the designers, professional accreditation is issued by the BFC to professionals only, and none of it can be bought. Anyone offering you a "runway ticket" for sale should raise the greatest suspicion.
TGZ never sells an invitation or a seat. A request can sometimes be passed on through legitimate private channels — relationships, designers' teams — after review of the client's profile, always subject to availability and with no guarantee whatsoever. Some editions also include appointments open to the public, announced as the week approaches. We speak with the same candour in both directions: what is achievable, and what is not. Our guide How do you attend London Fashion Week? and our page Attending a London Fashion Week show: the legitimate route set out those routes one by one.
Dates & editions
London fashion lives to a twice-yearly rhythm: February for the autumn-winter collections, September for spring-summer. The most recent edition ran from Thursday 17 to Monday 21 September 2026, for the spring-summer 2027 collections. The next takes place in February 2027.
At the time of writing, the British Fashion Council has not published the exact dates of the February 2027 edition; the detailed schedule — designers, times, venues — follows as the edition approaches, and some venues are confirmed only to invited guests. A stay is therefore built in two stages: the foundations well in advance, the highlights once the schedule lands.

Budget
During the week, London's leading hotels are in demand. Every line is set by personalised quotation and varies with simple criteria: the address, category and number of nights for a suite, with minimum-night stays common during the week; capacity and length of stay for a privately staffed townhouse or serviced apartment; the number of days for a dedicated chauffeur, a stylist or close protection; the format of private dinners and evenings; Eurostar or private aviation; the size of the party; and the timing of the booking.
No budget, however large, buys an invitation to a show — that is the boundary any honest adviser should state from the outset. Our guide How much does a VIP London Fashion Week cost? explains what makes each of these line items vary.
Accommodation & logistics
The stay is played out on the map: Mayfair and St James's, the Strand and Covent Garden, Soho, Marylebone and Notting Hill, Chelsea and Knightsbridge, Shoreditch and East London — each with its own vocation, compared in our guide The neighbourhoods of London Fashion Week and our guide Where should you stay during London Fashion Week? Suites book out well in advance for the week.
As for arrival: from Paris, the Eurostar reaches St Pancras International in a little over two hours. By private jet, Farnborough, an airport dedicated to business aviation some sixty kilometres south-west of the centre, London City in the Docklands, the closest to the centre, and Heathrow to the west are the usual gateways, with journey times depending on traffic. On the ground, the dedicated chauffeur is the baseline — the Congestion Charge in the centre is handled for you —, with short walks between close addresses and fallback routes when traffic seizes up. Our guide How do you get around London during Fashion Week? details these trade-offs.

Style & programme
There is no written dress code, but there are real unwritten ones: character and a considered silhouette by day, a piece from the designer who invites you where relevant, evening elegance at dinner, the invitation's code for parties — and, in February, a wardrobe planned for cold and rain. Our guide What is the London Fashion Week dress code? decodes them, and our page Personal shopping during London Fashion Week organises the wardrobe and boutique itineraries. One practical note: the UK no longer offers tax-free shopping for purchases carried home in your luggage, a scheme abolished in 2021; a purchase shipped directly by the boutique to an address outside the UK may be exempt from British VAT, depending on the boutique.
The rest of the week is composed like a score: tables booked weeks in advance — see our guide Where to dine during London Fashion Week —, private chef dinners, evenings by invitation, with members' clubs open only on a member's invitation. A single point of contact holds the whole together, and adjusts it in real time all week long.
The essentials
London Fashion Week is organised by the British Fashion Council twice a year; the next edition takes place in February 2027, with dates and schedule published as it approaches. The shows are by nominative invitation: nothing there can be bought, and any promise to the contrary is a red flag. A VIP stay is set by personalised quotation, according to the length of stay, the accommodation — hotel suite or privately staffed townhouse — and the density of the programme. The foundations book out well in advance; the highlights are set when the schedule is published. TGZ Conciergerie, an independent house with no ties to the BFC or the designers, orchestrates the whole with candour about what is possible.
Frequently asked questions
The next edition takes place in February 2027, devoted to the autumn-winter collections. The British Fashion Council had not published its exact dates at the time of writing; they are announced with the detailed schedule as the edition approaches. The previous edition ran from Thursday 17 to Monday 21 September 2026, for spring-summer 2027.
No. The shows are professional events by invitation, with no public ticketing. Invitations are nominative and issued by the designers: they are not for sale. Any "runway ticket" offered for sale, or any invitation presented as certain, should raise the greatest suspicion — it is the most reliable signal of an illegitimate offer.
Invitations are issued by the designers for the press, buyers, their clients and their guests; professional accreditation is issued by the BFC to professionals only. For a private client, a request can sometimes be passed on through legitimate private channels, after review of the client's profile, always subject to availability and with no guarantee whatsoever. Our guide How do you attend London Fashion Week? covers every avenue candidly.
No — and you should be wary of anyone who claims otherwise. Invitations are nominative and rest solely on the designers' decision. A serious concierge house passes on requests where possible, speaks of access "subject to availability, subject to validation", and tells you clearly when the route is closed — while proposing real alternatives: presentations, studio appointments, private evenings.
The British Fashion Council is the organiser of London Fashion Week: it draws up the schedule of shows, presentations and events, and issues professional accreditation. For the September 2026 edition, it announced 47 catwalk shows, 23 presentations, 10 digital activations and 53 evening events. TGZ Conciergerie is an independent house, with no affiliation to the BFC and no official status of any kind.
It is quoted on request, because it is composed: a hotel suite (minimum-night stays common) or a privately staffed townhouse, a dedicated chauffeur, a stylist or personal shopper, close protection, private dinners. What moves the cost: the length of stay, the address, the number of days for each service, Eurostar or private aviation, the size of the party and the timing of the booking. Our budget guide explains each line item.
In the neighbourhood that matches your programme: Mayfair for immersion — Claridge's, The Connaught, The Beaumont, for illustration —, the Strand for proximity to 180 Strand — The Savoy —, Knightsbridge for calm — The Berkeley, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park —, or a privately staffed townhouse in Mayfair, Belgravia, Notting Hill or Chelsea. Suites book out well in advance; our neighbourhoods and accommodation guides compare every option.
A dedicated chauffeur as the baseline, on quotation, with anticipated routes and systematic margins: venues are spread across London and traffic is dense, with the Congestion Charge in the centre handled by the chauffeur. Between close addresses in Soho or Mayfair, a short walk is often quicker; for longer routes, a fallback itinerary or a second car is ready.
From Paris, the Eurostar reaches St Pancras International in a little over two hours, with a chauffeur waiting on arrival. By private jet, Farnborough — dedicated to business aviation, some sixty kilometres south-west of the centre —, London City in the Docklands and Heathrow are the usual gateways; journey times into town depend on traffic. We coordinate the arrival end to end, luggage and wardrobe delivered to your suite.
No written dress code: the shows are professional events with no regulatory attire. But the unwritten codes are real — a considered silhouette, personality rather than display, British codes such as Savile Row tailoring — and the approaches to the shows are photographed continuously. In February, plan for cold and rain. Our dedicated dress code guide decodes each moment, and our stylists compose the week's wardrobe.
Evening events and after-parties work like the shows: by invitation, with no ticketing, and never guaranteed. Members' clubs open only on a member's invitation. A request is sometimes passed on where possible, after review of the client's profile. What can be composed freely, on the other hand: your own evenings — a private chef dinner, a reception in a townhouse, a late table. Our dedicated after-parties page maps both registers.
As early as possible: hotel suites, townhouses, experienced chauffeurs, the most sought-after tables and stylists book out well before the edition, and minimum-night stays quickly narrow the choice. The highlights — shows, evenings — are set later, when the BFC publishes the schedule. For the February 2027 edition, the right moment to lay the foundations is now.
