Where Should You Stay for the Monaco Red Cross Gala?
Place du Casino, Port Hercule, Carré d'Or, the seafront: the addresses that matter around the Sporting, compared for a July stay in Monaco.

For a stay around the Monaco Red Cross Gala, the addresses of Monte-Carlo let you live everything on foot or within a few minutes' drive of the Sporting, on avenue Princesse-Grace. The Hôtel de Paris, opened in 1864 facing the Casino and renovated in 2019, the Hôtel Hermitage, a Belle Époque grand hotel above the port, and the Hôtel Métropole, more intimate, in the Carré d'Or, are the three reference houses; Monte-Carlo Beach, a seasonal seafront hotel in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, plays the beach card. A villa with staff on the neighbouring coast suits those who wish to receive. In July, suites are booked early; every stay is quoted individually.
Why stay in Monte-Carlo
The Principality covers two square kilometres: from Monte-Carlo, the Place du Casino, Port Hercule, the terraces and the Sporting are a few minutes away. Staying at the heart of it means living the stay without a car by day — a coffee on the square in the morning, the port before heading out to sea, a table in the evening close by.
There is a practical reason too. On the night of the gala, the Sporting, on avenue Princesse-Grace, welcomes some eight hundred guests; a well-chosen address, and a chauffeur who knows the hour of departure, make the difference between a calm return and a wait at the door.

The Hôtel de Paris: the Place du Casino
The Hôtel de Paris opened in 1864, facing the Casino, in the Monte-Carlo that the Société des Bains de Mer was then building. It reopened in 2019 after more than four years of works, which reimagined the rooms and suites while keeping the façade on the square and the marble hall. It is home to Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse, three stars in the MICHELIN Guide 2026, and Le Grill; beneath the square lies a cellar carved into the rock in 1874.
Its guests have access to the nearby Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo. We request the category and the outlook you prefer — the square side or the sea side — according to the hotel's availability, and tell you plainly when a date is already full.
The Hôtel Hermitage: above the port
The Hôtel Hermitage was built between 1890 and 1896 by the architect Jean Marquet, in the Belle Époque style, on the heights overlooking Port Hercule. Its winter garden is crowned by a glass-and-metal dome to which Gustave Eiffel contributed. The hotel is connected to the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo and is home to Pavyllon, Yannick Alléno's restaurant, one star in the MICHELIN Guide 2026, with its terrace over the sea.
The rooms divide between views of the port and the Rock and views of the town. For a stay turned towards the sea — a boat in the port, a terrace at sunset — it is the natural address.

The Hôtel Métropole: the Carré d'Or
The Hôtel Métropole was built in 1889, a few steps from the Casino, behind a Belle Époque façade. Jacques Garcia designed its interiors; the house has a spa of around 2,000 m² and a heated seawater pool, surrounded by an open-air restaurant. Its restaurant, Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac, holds two stars in the MICHELIN Guide 2026.
More intimate than the grand houses on the square, the hotel suits those who want the heart of Monte-Carlo with a little retreat, and the pool for summer afternoons.
The seafront, or a villa for receiving
Monte-Carlo Beach, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, just across the border, is a seasonal hotel: a private beach, an Olympic-size pool facing the Mediterranean, restaurants at the water's edge. For a July stay, it is the beach address, a few minutes' drive from the Sporting.
For a group, a family or a stay where you receive guests, a villa with staff on the neighbouring coast offers what a hotel cannot: a terrace for a dinner before the evening, a room for fittings, the discretion of an address that is not public. A minimum number of nights is often required; we inspect each property before proposing it.
| Address | Neighbourhood | For whom | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hôtel de Paris | Place du Casino | Living Monte-Carlo on foot, great tables on site | Square side or sea side, to request early |
| Hôtel Hermitage | Square Beaumarchais, above the port | A stay turned towards the sea and the port | Winter garden, direct access to the Thermes Marins |
| Hôtel Métropole | Carré d'Or, avenue de la Madone | Intimacy, spa, seawater pool | A smaller house, suites in demand |
| Monte-Carlo Beach | Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, seafront | Beach and pool in high summer | Seasonal hotel |
| Villa with staff | Neighbouring coast | Group, family, receptions | Minimum number of nights often required |

When to book, and how we proceed
July is the heart of the season in Monaco, and suites in Monte-Carlo go early. We advise securing the hotel as soon as your dates take shape, adjusting later when the organiser publishes the 2027 date. We book with hotels as any client would: TGZ is affiliated with none of them.
The quote depends on the address, the suite category, the length of stay and the timing of the booking. It includes no place at the gala. For the rest of the stay — sea, tables, evening looks, transfers — our Monaco Red Cross Gala VIP page composes the whole, and our guide How to Get to the Monaco Red Cross Gala prepares your arrival.
Frequently asked questions
The Sporting is on avenue Princesse-Grace, a few minutes' drive from the Place du Casino. The Hôtel de Paris, the Hôtel Hermitage and the Hôtel Métropole, named by way of illustration, put Monte-Carlo within walking distance and the Sporting a short drive away; Monte-Carlo Beach is on the other side, by the sea.
Not necessarily. Monte-Carlo suits you if you want to live everything on foot; a villa on the neighbouring coast or Monte-Carlo Beach, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, suit those who want the sea and calm. We choose according to your programme, not an address's reputation.
As soon as your dates take shape. The 2027 date has not yet been published, but the gala is held in mid-July: we can secure the hotel early and adjust afterwards, according to each house's terms.
Yes: a villa with staff on the neighbouring coast lends itself well to a group or a stay where you receive guests. A minimum number of nights is often required in summer; we inspect each property and its terms before proposing it, on a tailored proposal.
It is possible depending on the boat, its crew and the berthing space available in the port, much in demand in July. Many prefer a suite ashore and the boat for the days; we advise you according to your group.
No. No hotel and no address gives access to the evening, whose places are offered by the organiser. Staying in Monte-Carlo simply makes the stay, and the night of the gala, easier.
