Where to stay for the US Open 2026?

Choosing your base in New York for the season's final Grand Slam.

In short

For the US Open 2026 (August 30 – September 13), Manhattan is the luxury base: Midtown and Midtown East, Central Park South, Fifth Avenue, Tribeca and SoHo hold the finest hotels. It is also where official-package guests are based. The venue, in Flushing Meadows (Queens), is a 20–40 minute drive away or roughly 30 minutes on the 7 train. Queens near the site offers only mid-tier 4-star hotels. Booking early is essential.

Manhattan is the luxury base, Queens stays mid-tier

The truly high-end inventory is in Manhattan. This is where the grand hotels, the houses of tradition and the most discreet addresses are concentrated, and where most US Open VIP guests stay.

Queens, around Flushing Meadows, offers only mid-tier 4-star hotels. Proximity to the site does not make up for the gap in service: for an exceptional stay, Manhattan remains the natural choice, with the venue easily reached by car or on the 7 train.

Manhattan: the benchmark neighbourhoods

Central Park South and Fifth Avenue embody timeless New York, with houses of tradition delivering rare precision, steps from the park and the flagship stores. It is the favoured base for those who put prestige first.

Tribeca and SoHo offer a more contemporary, discreet register, prized by families and travellers seeking privacy. Whichever neighbourhood, Manhattan places you at the heart of the city, with access to the venue arranged bespoke by TGZ.

Midtown: closest to the action

Midtown and Midtown East are the most pragmatic choice. This is where official packages typically base their guests, and it is also the area best connected to the 7 subway line, which runs directly to Mets–Willets Point, steps from the gates.

This dual proximity — car and subway — simplifies the daily commute to Flushing Meadows across the fortnight. For anyone attending several sessions, it is the most efficient base.

Should you stay near the venue, in Queens?

Immediate proximity to the site is appealing, but Queens around Flushing Meadows offers only mid-tier 4-star hotels. The supply there is functional, without the level of service or the atmosphere a discerning clientele looks for.

In practice, almost all VIP guests stay in Manhattan and reach the venue by car or on the 7 train. Staying in Queens makes sense only for those who place strict proximity above every other consideration.

Book early and arrange transfers

The US Open fills New York. The finest Manhattan addresses are reserved well in advance, and high-end inventory thins quickly as the fortnight approaches. We recommend starting the process without delay.

TGZ orchestrates the whole stay: selecting and booking the hotel, then chauffeur transfers to the gates, subject to availability and on a quote basis. As an independent concierge, we are neither affiliated with nor mandated by the USTA, the US Open or On Location; official access falls under the USTA's "US Open Premier" programme.
