What to Do During Frieze Week in London?
Frieze Masters, Frieze Sculpture, galleries, evening sales, museums and dinners: the week around Frieze London, day after day.
Last updated 5 October 2026 · 4 min read
During Frieze Week, beyond Frieze London (an invitation-only preview on 14 October 2026, ticketed days from 15 to 18 October), you discover Frieze Masters, on the other side of Regent's Park, devoted to art made before 2000, and Frieze Sculpture, free, in the English Gardens until 1 November. Add to this the galleries of Mayfair and St James's, No.9 Cork Street, the exhibitions and evening sales of the major auction houses, the city's museums, then the dinners, often by invitation, and the private evenings.
One week, several occasions
Frieze London is the centre of gravity of the week, but not its only address. The table below sets out its main occasions, as a point of reference; each one publishes its own calendar and conditions.
| Occasion | 2026 dates | Where | What you see there |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frieze London | Preview 14 October; tickets 15–18 October | Regent's Park, south | Contemporary work, galleries from around the world |
| Frieze Masters | Preview 14 October; tickets 15–18 October | Regent's Park, north-east | From antiquity to the twentieth century |
| Frieze Sculpture | 16 September – 1 November | Regent's Park, English Gardens | Outdoor sculpture, free to visit |
| Evening sales | Dates published by each house | Mayfair, St James's and nearby | Modern and contemporary art |
| Frieze Viewing Room | 7–23 October | Online | The works from the fairs, at a distance |

Frieze Masters and Frieze Sculpture: the other half of the park
Frieze Masters, on Gloucester Green, in the north-east corner of the park, presents works made before 2000: antiquities, Old Masters, sculpture and decorative arts, drawings, modern art, historical Asian art. You move through it differently from Frieze London: more slowly, retracing your steps. Half a day is not too much.
Between the two fairs, Frieze Sculpture installs works in the open air in the English Gardens, south of the Broad Walk. It can be explored freely, on foot, often between the two fairs, when autumn leaves a little light over the park.
The galleries of Mayfair and St James's
A large share of London's galleries are in Mayfair and St James's, and many hang their exhibitions for Frieze Week. No.9 Cork Street, Frieze's permanent space in Mayfair, opened in 2021, hosts invited galleries. St James's, with its Old Master galleries, is a natural extension of a day at Frieze Masters.
We compose a walking route, from one address to the next, according to what matters to you, and request private visits where possible, subject to availability, without guarantee.

Evening sales and pre-sale exhibitions
The major auction houses hold their modern and contemporary art evening sales during Frieze Week. The exhibitions that precede them are generally open to the public and free of charge; access to the evening sale rooms is through registration as a bidder or through a relationship with the house, according to its own rules.
We are happy to include a pre-sale exhibition in your day, and to point you towards each house's registration procedures; we never take part in the bidding or in the transactions.
Museums, dinners, evenings
The city's museums — Tate Modern on the Thames, the Royal Academy of Arts on Piccadilly, the Serpentine Galleries in Kensington Gardens, cited for illustration — round out the week; their exhibitions and opening hours are checked for each edition. Some institutions hold visits or receptions reserved for their guests during the week.
In the evening, the week takes on another face: gallery dinners for their collectors, private receptions in townhouses and clubs. These occasions are generally held by invitation. We pass on requests where possible, after reviewing the client's profile, without any guarantee. When no invitation comes, we create the evening: a private salon, a townhouse rented in which to entertain, a chef and a sommelier, discreet security.

A typical week, day by day
An indicative example, to be adapted to your dates and your way in: arrival on Tuesday 13 October, Mayfair galleries in the afternoon; the preview on Wednesday 14 if you hold a VIP invitation, otherwise museums and St James's; Frieze Masters on Thursday 15 in the afternoon, Frieze Sculpture as you cross the park; Frieze London on Friday 16; a pre-sale exhibition and a last dinner on Saturday; departure on Sunday. Each day keeps a quiet moment: at the hotel spa, or simply on foot in Marylebone.
