How to Get to Art Monte-Carlo?
Nice airport, seven minutes by helicopter, a car waiting: arrival in Monaco and journeys during the fair, planned in advance.
Last updated 6 October 2026 · 3 min read
For Art Monte-Carlo, you arrive through Nice Côte d'Azur airport, on a scheduled flight or by private jet; Monaco has no airport. From there, a helicopter reaches the Monaco heliport, in Fontvieille, in about seven minutes; the road, about twenty kilometres, takes half an hour outside peak traffic. The coastal train serves Monaco station from Nice. The Grimaldi Forum stands on avenue Princesse Grace, on the Larvotto seafront, a few minutes by car from the Place du Casino; a dedicated chauffeur simplifies the comings and goings and the dinners. Every journey is quoted on request.
Arriving at Nice Côte d'Azur
Nice Côte d'Azur airport is the gateway to Monaco. It receives scheduled flights from Europe's major cities as well as business aviation. From Paris, London or Geneva, a private jet fits your diary: arrival the day before the fair, or the same morning for a short stay, since the public days opened in the afternoon in 2026.
We arrange the welcome on arrival, the transfer of luggage and the rest of the journey without waiting.
| Journey | Indicative duration | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Helicopter Nice – Monaco heliport | About seven minutes | Weather permitting; a fallback car is always arranged |
| Chauffeur-driven car Nice – Monaco | Half an hour outside peak traffic | About twenty kilometres by motorway |
| Coastal train Nice – Monaco station | Varies by train | Then a few minutes by car to the Larvotto |

The helicopter: seven minutes to Monaco
The helicopter links Nice airport with the Monaco heliport, in the Fontvieille district, in about seven minutes. A scheduled shuttle runs frequent rotations; a private flight can be booked at the time that suits you. On arrival, a car takes you to your hotel or directly to the Grimaldi Forum.
It is the simple option for those arriving on the day itself. It depends on the weather: strong wind or poor visibility can suspend flights. We always arrange a fallback car.
By road, or by train
By road, about twenty kilometres separate the airport from Monaco: half an hour outside peak traffic along the motorway, longer at busy times. A chauffeur awaits you as you leave the aircraft and handles luggage and the journey.
The coastal train links Nice with Monaco station, at the heart of the Principality; from there, the Larvotto is a few minutes away by car. It is a practical option for a light traveller, less so for a group with luggage.

Getting around Monaco during the fair
Monaco is compact, but its terrain is real: distances as the crow flies are short, the climbs less so. The Grimaldi Forum, on the Larvotto seafront, can be reached on foot from the district's hotels, and in a few minutes by car from the Place du Casino or the harbour.
A dedicated chauffeur remains invaluable: dropping you at the entrance, waiting between two appointments, taking you to the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, at the Villa Paloma, on the heights, or to a dinner on the Riviera, and handling the evening returns. The route sheet is reviewed every morning, with a fallback planned for each journey.
If you are staying on the Riviera
A villa on the Riviera calls for well-held logistics: a chauffeur who knows the coast road and its busy hours, morning journeys timed to the fair's opening and an evening return planned from the morning. We build your stay on this principle, according to your visits, the museums and your dinners.
If you acquire a work during the fair, its transport is a matter for the gallery and its shippers; we are happy to coordinate delivery appointments with your diary, without taking part in the transaction. Our guide Where to Stay During Art Monte-Carlo? helps you choose the address.
