Where to Stay During Art Monte-Carlo?
On the Larvotto seafront, on the Place du Casino, in the Carré d'Or or on the Riviera: the choice of address sets the rhythm of your days.

For Art Monte-Carlo, any address in Monaco puts the Grimaldi Forum a few minutes away. The Larvotto seafront lets you walk to the fair. On the Place du Casino, the Hôtel de Paris, opened in 1864 and renovated in 2019, and the Hôtel Hermitage, a Belle Époque grand hotel built between 1890 and 1896 above the harbour, give you the heart of Monte-Carlo; the Hôtel Métropole, an 1889 house in the Carré d'Or, offers a more intimate stay — all cited for illustration. A staffed villa on the Riviera suits a family or a group, with a chauffeur for the journeys. At the end of April, before the high season, rooms remain more accessible than in summer; every stay is quoted on request.
The golden rule: a compact city, addresses booked early
Monaco fits into a few kilometres of coastline: from any hotel in the Principality, the Grimaldi Forum is a few minutes away. The choice of address therefore depends less on distance than on the rhythm you want to give your stay — on foot by the sea, at the heart of Monte-Carlo's evenings, or in the calm of a villa.
At the end of April, the Principality has not yet tipped into the high season, and rooms remain easier to find than in summer. The finer categories, sea views and suites nonetheless go early. The hotels cited below are cited for illustration: we book with them like any client, with no affiliation.

The options, compared
The table below summarises the options. Their availability during the fair days is checked case by case.
| Address or area | Atmosphere | Distance to the fair | For whom |
|---|---|---|---|
| Larvotto seafront | Beaches, promenade, hotels facing the sea | A few minutes on foot | Those who want to do everything on foot |
| Hôtel de Paris, Place du Casino | The heart of Monte-Carlo, its tables and its evenings | A few minutes by car | Those who want the square and its dinners |
| Hôtel Hermitage, above the harbour | Belle Époque grand hotel, winter garden | A few minutes by car | Those who love harbour views |
| Hôtel Métropole, Carré d'Or | More intimate, spa and pool | A few minutes by car | Those seeking calm |
| Staffed villa, Riviera | Discretion, terrace, room to entertain | Car journey, variable | Family, group, private dinners |
The Larvotto: as close as possible to the fair
The Grimaldi Forum stands on avenue Princesse Grace, on the Larvotto seafront, in the east of the Principality. Staying in the district lets you walk to the fair, return to change between two visits and enjoy the promenade and the beaches in the morning. Several seafront hotels there offer rooms facing the Mediterranean.
It is the address for those who want a simple stay, centred on the fair and the sea. For evenings on the Place du Casino, a car takes you there in a few minutes.

Place du Casino and the harbour: the Hôtel de Paris and the Hôtel Hermitage
The Hôtel de Paris opened in 1864, facing the Casino. It reopened in 2019 after more than four years of works, which reimagined the rooms and suites while keeping the façade on the square and the marble hall. It is the address for those who want the heart of Monte-Carlo, its tables and its evenings.
The Hôtel Hermitage was built between 1890 and 1896 in the Belle Époque style, on the heights overlooking Port Hercule; its winter garden is crowned by a dome of glass and metal. Rooms are divided between harbour views and city views. In both cases, we request the category and orientation you prefer according to the hotel's availability, without promising a specific room.
The Carré d'Or and the Riviera: the Hôtel Métropole, or a villa
The Hôtel Métropole was built in 1889, a few steps from the Casino, behind a Belle Époque façade. More intimate than the grand houses of the square, it combines a spa and a seawater pool: the address for a calm stay, to end the day after the fair.
For a family, a group or a stay where you entertain, a staffed villa on the Riviera offers what a hotel does not: a drawing room to discuss an acquisition in peace, a terrace for a dinner, the discretion of an address that is not public. The journey to the Grimaldi Forum is planned with a chauffeur; a minimum number of nights is often required, and we check every property before proposing it.

When to book, and how we proceed
For the end of April, the winter is the right window: suites and rooms with sea views go first. A few weeks before the fair, you work with what remains — which, in Monaco out of season, often still leaves fine options. The cancellation terms of each address are presented to you before any commitment.
Our method: start from your programme — fair days, museums, dinners — to choose between the sea, the Place du Casino and the Riviera, then the address, then the category. Our guide How to Get to Art Monte-Carlo? completes this choice, and our guide What to Do During Art Monte-Carlo in Monaco? helps you sketch out the days.
