Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo stands on Casino Square, on the site of the former Cabaret Monte-Carlo, an entertainment hall set inside the Casino early in the last century. The decor has kept its scale: seven-metre ceilings, woodwork, stucco, cornices and gilding, and at the centre a large meditating Buddha.
The menu travels through Asia — Thailand, Japan, South-East Asia — using French technique. The house opens Monday to Saturday, 6 pm to 3 am; dinner gradually gives way to DJ sets as the evening goes on. Two open-air terraces extend the room, and a private salon receives smaller groups.
TGZ requests a table or a quieter corner for you, within the house's rules, and tells you honestly when the evening is full.
