Founded in Paris in 1972 by Gilbert and Maguy Le Coze, Le Bernardin moved to New York in 1986, at 155 West 51st Street. Éric Ripert joined the kitchen in 1991 and now leads the house, which he co-owns with Maguy Le Coze.
The subject has not changed: fish and shellfish, served almost raw, barely touched or lightly cooked, with sauces that work for the ingredient. The room is quiet and the service attentive without weight. The Michelin Guide keeps it at three stars, confirmed in the 2025 New York edition.
