The Nines
The Nines opened in January 2022 at 9 Great Jones Street, upstairs from ACME, led by Jon Neidich and Golden Age Hospitality. The name nods to the address and to the phrase 'dressed to the nines'.
The room seats around seventy: leopard carpet, crimson sofas, Murano glass chandeliers, gold-leaf wallpaper and, at the centre, a black baby grand where musicians play every night. Dinner comes first, then the evening drifts toward the bar and the music, late.
The Nines is not a membership club: tables are booked, and they go quickly. TGZ, independent of the house, looks for a table or banquette at the time you want, often successfully, and tells you honestly when the night is full.
