How to Attend Art Basel in Basel?
Public tickets, Preview Days, VIP cards: what can be bought, what is received, and how to prepare your fair days.

To attend Art Basel in Basel, the route open to everyone is the admission ticket, sold by Art Basel through its online ticket shop, for the public days from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 June 2027. The Preview Days — Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 June — are reserved for VIP cardholders: these cards are issued by Art Basel, through its VIP Relations team, and by exhibiting galleries, to their collectors and to professionals. They are named and cannot be bought. When the fair offers premium packages, it publishes their content itself and sells them through its ticket shop. TGZ Conciergerie sells no VIP cards; we arrange the purchase of your tickets in your name where possible, and prepare your fair days.
Two stages, and only one route that can be freely bought
Art Basel works in two stages. First the Preview Days, on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 June 2027, entered by VIP card; then the public days, from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 June, entered with a ticket, sold by the fair through its online ticket shop.
This guide reviews each of these routes, what it requires and what it allows. One point from the outset: TGZ Conciergerie is an independent house, with no affiliation with Art Basel, its parent company MCH Group, or the exhibiting galleries, and with no official status. We sell neither VIP cards nor resold tickets: we arrange the purchase of tickets in your name through the fair's own ticket shop where possible, and we tell you when it is not possible.
| Way in | Who issues it | Days | What TGZ can do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Admission ticket | Art Basel, through its online ticket shop | Public days, 17 – 20 June | Arrange the purchase in your name, subject to availability |
| Premium package (if offered) | Art Basel, through its online ticket shop | According to the conditions published by the fair | Check the conditions, arrange the purchase in your name |
| VIP card | Art Basel (VIP Relations) and exhibiting galleries | Preview Days, 15 and 16 June, then public days | Nothing: it is not for sale, and we issue none |

The admission ticket: the route open to everyone
The admission ticket gives access to the fair during the public days. Art Basel sells it itself, through its online ticket shop, which it presents as the only sales channel: it is better to see to it as soon as sales open rather than on the eve of the fair.
It is the simple route, and it is enough for a very fine visit: the same galleries, Unlimited, the same works, in halls somewhat busier than during the Preview Days. We arrange the purchase of your tickets in your name where possible, then compose the day around it: arrival at opening or in the early afternoon, according to your rhythm, drop-off as close to the Messeplatz as possible, lunch away from the fair, a return at whatever time suits you.
Premium packages: an offer from the fair, when it exists
Depending on the edition, Art Basel sells packages that are more complete than the simple ticket. Their content — broader access, services, associated programmes — is set and published by the fair for each edition; it may change from one year to the next, and they should not be confused with a VIP card.
If such a package is offered for 2027 and suits your plans, we check its conditions with you at the time of the request, then arrange the purchase in your name through the fair's ticket shop, while any remain. Origin and conditions are confirmed to you before any commitment.

The VIP card: what it is, who issues it
The VIP card opens the Preview Days of 15 and 16 June, along with a set of benefits determined by Art Basel. It is issued by the fair itself, through its VIP Relations team, and by exhibiting galleries, which send them to their collectors. It is named.
It needs to be said plainly: a VIP card cannot be bought. It comes from a relationship — with a gallery whose artists you follow, with the fair itself for the collectors, curators and professionals it knows. No serious concierge can sell one, and any offer of a "VIP card" or "VIP access" for sale should raise suspicion: at best a confusion with a paid package, at worst a card in someone else's name, refused at the entrance.
If you are a collector and you acquire from exhibiting galleries, it is to them that you should turn: they know your collection and decide on their invitations alone. TGZ plays no part in that choice.
Preparing your fair days
A successful day at Messe Basel is prepared like an appointment. We help you choose what to see first — the galleries that matter to you, Unlimited, the Parcours installations in the neighbouring streets — to identify in advance the artists you follow, and to plan breaks: the fair is vast, and attention tires faster than legs.
Around the visit, we settle what depends on us alone: a chauffeur who drops you off and collects you as close as possible, lunch booked away from the bustle, a return to the hotel before dinner. Art Basel also organises guided tours in several languages, for which the admission ticket is not included: it needs to be arranged separately.

What can be lived without a VIP card — and it is a great deal
The week is not just the Preview Days. Parcours can be discovered freely, in public space; the satellite fairs, such as Liste, sell their own tickets; the museums of the region — the Fondation Beyeler, the Kunstmuseum Basel, the Vitra Campus — welcome the public. Our guide What to Do During Art Basel Week in Basel? maps it out.
In the evening, gallery dinners and collectors' receptions are held by invitation: we pass on requests where possible, after reviewing the client's profile, without any guarantee. And when no invitation comes, we create the evening — a private salon, a table beside the Rhine, a house rented to entertain. Many of our clients discover that a large part of the week never depended on a card.
Frequently asked questions
Through Art Basel's online ticket shop, reached from artbasel.com, which the fair presents as its only sales channel. Be wary of resellers: a ticket bought elsewhere offers no assurance. TGZ resells no tickets; we arrange the purchase in your name, through the fair's ticket shop, where possible.
No. VIP cards are issued by Art Basel and by exhibiting galleries, to their collectors and to professionals; they are named and are not for sale. TGZ sells none, issues none and promises none.
On Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 June 2027, according to Art Basel. The public days follow, from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 June.
Unlimited is part of the fair, at Messe Basel; it can be visited during the opening days, according to the conditions published by Art Basel for the edition. Parcours, for its part, can be discovered freely in public space. We check the conditions of the 2027 edition with you before any purchase.
We can pass on a request where possible, after reviewing the client's profile, without any guarantee: the decision belongs to the gallery hosting the dinner. We tell you early what is realistic — and, if you wish, we create your own private dinner.
It is better to see to it as soon as sales open. Basel's rooms and chauffeurs for mid-June go early too; it is better to set everything in motion at once.
