Oscars 2027: How Does the Week of the Ceremony Unfold in Los Angeles?
The Academy's calendar, invitations, parties, neighbourhoods and logistics: an honest guide to a week in which what matters happens around the auditorium.

The 99th Oscars ceremony will take place on Sunday 14 March 2027 at the Dolby Theatre, Ovation Hollywood, in Los Angeles; it is organised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which will announce the nominations on Thursday 21 January 2027. The ceremony is held by invitation of the Academy — no seat is sold to the public — as are the Governors Ball that follows it and nearly all of the week's parties, by nominative invitation. A private visitor experiences the week differently: a grand hotel in Beverly Hills or a villa in Bel Air, tables at the right times, private evenings created for them, days between Rodeo Drive, Malibu and the Academy Museum, and a chauffeur who works around the Hollywood closures.
What is Oscars week?
The Oscars are the annual awards of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the professional organisation of American cinema. The awards — a ceremony broadcast live around the world — are presented in Hollywood, at the Dolby Theatre, within the Ovation Hollywood complex, on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue.
Around it has grown what the industry calls Oscars Week: the days before the ceremony, when Los Angeles moves from lunches to screenings, studio and agency dinners, magazine and brand parties. Almost all of this calendar is private, by invitation; yet it is what gives the city its particular atmosphere, from Beverly Hills to West Hollywood.
The story began modestly: on 16 May 1929, the first awards were presented in the Blossom Room of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, at a private dinner for some 270 guests. It lasted around fifteen minutes, and the winners had been known for three months. The Roosevelt is still there, on Hollywood Boulevard, a few steps from the Dolby Theatre.

The calendar of the 99th ceremony
The Academy has published the key dates of the season. For a stay, only one truly matters: the Sunday of the ceremony. The others explain the rhythm of the city — it is after the nominations are announced that the week's invitations begin to circulate.
| Stage | Date | What it changes for a stay |
|---|---|---|
| Nominations voting | Monday 11 to Friday 15 January 2027 | Nothing yet: awards season is in full swing, the March calendar is not settled |
| Nominations announcement | Thursday 21 January 2027 | The week's parties begin to take shape; hotel demand picks up |
| Final voting | Thursday 25 February to Thursday 4 March 2027 | The closures around the Dolby Theatre generally begin during this period |
| Ceremony | Sunday 14 March 2027 | Hollywood closed to traffic around the Dolby Theatre; an evening of high demand |
What cannot be bought: the ceremony and its parties
It must be said plainly. The ceremony is held by invitation of the Academy: its members, the nominees, the presenters and their guests. No seat is sold to the public, and any offer of an "Oscars ticket" should give you real pause.
The Governors Ball, the reception given by the Academy upstairs in the same complex immediately after the ceremony, is also by invitation. The week's other parties — studio dinners, agency receptions, magazine parties — are private events, by nominative invitation from their organisers, with lists checked at the door.
TGZ Conciergerie sells none of these places and will promise you none. Our guide Oscars Week and After-Parties: How Do They Really Work? sets out this framework, and what can genuinely be composed alongside it.

How to experience the week as a private visitor
The week can be enjoyed very well without an invitation card. The days: private boutique appointments on Rodeo Drive, lunch in Malibu, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Wilshire Boulevard — open to the public, with its collections on the history of cinema —, a private screening arranged for you and your guests.
The evenings: a table at the right time in a city where private rooms are held by the industry, a dinner served by a chef in your villa, an evening we create for you in the hills. On the night of the ceremony, many of our clients watch it live, among friends, in a suite or a villa — a way of living the evening that no one can take from you.
A successful stay rests on orchestration: an address that serves as headquarters, a chauffeur who knows the closures, tables secured, a single point of contact who composes the whole.
Preparing your stay: neighbourhoods, journeys, attire
Accommodation first: Beverly Hills, Bel Air and West Hollywood are home to the grand hotels, and suites go months in advance, often with a minimum stay. Hollywood itself, around the Dolby Theatre, is a heavily constrained area during the week. Our guide Where to Stay in Los Angeles During Oscars Week? compares the neighbourhoods one by one.
Then the journeys: Los Angeles is crossed by car, and during the week Hollywood Boulevard is closed around the Dolby Theatre. In 2026, the closure ran between Orange Drive and Highland Avenue from 5 to 18 March; the 2027 plan will be published as the date approaches. Our guide How to Get Around Los Angeles During Oscars Week? covers LAX, Van Nuys and chauffeurs.
Finally, attire: the ceremony is black tie, the week's parties have their own codes, and March evenings are cool. Our guide What Is the Dress Code for Oscars Week in Los Angeles? sets out the conventions.

In short
The 99th Oscars ceremony is held on Sunday 14 March 2027 at the Dolby Theatre, in Hollywood. The ceremony, the Governors Ball and nearly all of the week's parties are by invitation: none of it can be bought. The private experience is composed around them — grand hotel or villa, tables, private evenings, well-chosen days, a chauffeur. TGZ Conciergerie, an independent house based in Paris with no affiliation whatsoever with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, orchestrates the entire stay, on quotation, with availability and conditions confirmed before any commitment.
