The Arsenale, 2021
In September 2021, amfAR returns to Venice for a dinner by the water, at the Arsenale. After dinner, gondolas carry the guests to a stage set on the lagoon.

What we actually arrange.
Four distinct undertakings, which can be taken separately or together. None of them consists of selling a place at the gala.
Each part is composed on request and subject to availability. Nothing is booked in advance, nothing is sold from a catalogue.
The evening
Gala night, on the lagoon.
The gala belongs to the foundation and its guests. If you have taken your table from it, we handle everything else; if not, the evening is composed elsewhere, beside a canal.

The fittings
The evening's look waits in the suite, altered if needed, designed for stepping aboard. Hair and make-up are timed to the boat's departure; the stylist stays until the jetty.

The boat
During the Venice Film Festival, the lagoon fills up in the late afternoon. The boat leaves ahead of time; the pilot knows the arrival jetty and the hour of the return.

The evening
If your table comes from amfAR, the pilot drops you at the jetty and waits. If not, a table held for you, set apart, in soft half-light.

The last drink
A hotel lounge still lit beside the canal, or the drawing room of your palazzo. We promise you only what is confirmed.

Open water
A boat waits for the day, bound for the islands of the lagoon or the open water off the Lido. The Venice Film Festival goes on; you have time.
An indicative example: each evening is composed to measure, nothing is booked in advance, and no table or place at the gala is part of it.

Tables and places at the amfAR Gala in Venice are sold by the foundation itself, in support of research; we neither sell any nor promise access, and can only point you towards it. The gala's tables and places are sold by amfAR itself, in support of research; terms and acceptance rest with it alone. We sell none and promise no access. We can tell you how to contact the foundation, then arrange everything else: the address, the boat, the look, the dinners.
The gala takes place during the Venice Film Festival, in recent years on the first Sunday of the festival — 31 August in 2025, 6 September in 2026. Neither the Venice Film Festival nor amfAR has yet published its 2027 dates; the gala is expected in September. We first build what does not depend on them — the address, the flight — then the rest once they are confirmed.
The gala has changed address almost every year: the Arsenale, La Misericordia, the Lido, the Giudecca. So you choose a central address, well served by water — Grand Canal, St Mark's, Giudecca — or the Lido to live the Venice Film Festival. In Venice, the car stops at Piazzale Roma. On gala night, you arrive at the venue's jetty by boat, and leave the same way: the lagoon has its speed limits, and the jetties are in heavy use that night. We take this into account in the departure time and the choice of address.

As of 5 October 2026, amfAR has published neither the date nor the venue of the 2027 edition. The gala takes place during the Venice Film Festival — in recent years on the first Sunday of the festival: 31 August in 2025, 6 September in 2026. It is expected in September 2027. We first build what does not depend on the date, then the rest as soon as it is confirmed.
The venue changes almost every year: the Arsenale in 2021, 2022 and 2025, La Misericordia in 2023, the Hangar Nicelli on the Lido in 2024, the Molino Stucky on the Giudecca in 2026. The foundation announces the venue of each edition; we follow its announcement for 2027.
On the Grand Canal or near St Mark's to reach everything by boat; on the Giudecca for calm, facing the city; on the Lido to live the Venice Film Festival.
