How does private jet charter work?

The full process, with no mystery.

In short

Private jet charter unfolds in a few steps: you share your trip, receive a tailored quote, then an aircraft and a certified operator are selected. On the day, you board at a private terminal about fifteen minutes before departure. It is one of several access models TGZ advises on, and one advisor folds the flight into a complete journey.

The process, step by step

Chartering a jet is nothing to be daunted by once the path is marked out. From your first request to the moment you step off the aircraft, it comes down to a handful of moves — most of them invisible, because we carry them for you.

Here is the typical arc of a booking. The timings depend on aircraft availability and the season, but the order never changes.

StepWhat happensTypical timing
1. The requestYou give us the origin, destination, dates, number of passengers and your preferences.A few minutes
2. The tailored quoteWe propose one or two suitable aircraft, priced for your actual trip, fees included.Often within hours
3. ConfirmationYou approve the aircraft and operator; the flight is booked and the contract issued.Same day
4. PreparationPassenger manifest, catering, transfers and formalities are settled in advance. The days before
5. DepartureYou arrive at the private terminal, a discreet screening, then boarding.≈ 15 min before the flight
6. Flight and arrivalDirect flight, a welcome on landing, ground onward travel already arranged.Depends on the route

One request, a tailored quote

It starts with a conversation, not a form. Four things are enough: where you leave from, where you are going, when, and for how many. Everything else — a pet on board, a cabin preference, a timing constraint — refines the choice.

We come back with one or two aircraft, never an endless list. Each option is priced for your real trip, positioning and fees included: the price you read is the price you pay.

One point worth clarifying: on-demand charter is priced flight by flight, so each trip stands on its own. It is one access model among several — jet cards, fractional and full ownership suit heavier or more predictable flying. As your advisor, not tied to any single model, TGZ weighs them with you and arranges the one that fits how you fly.

Aircraft and operator: our share of the work

Between your confirmation and your departure, the essential work happens behind the scenes. We match your mission to the right aircraft — the correct category, neither oversized nor too short for the distance — and entrust the flight to an operator whose approvals and standards are verified.

We favour operators certified to the sector's recognised standards (ARGUS, Wyvern, IS-BAO) and holding the required approvals (Part 135 / AOC). TGZ is not an air operator: we arrange and select; the flight is performed by the approved operator. That independence is your guarantee that the choice is made on safety, never under the constraint of a fleet to fill.

Departure day: private terminal, not the terminal hall

This is where private aviation changes in kind. You do not pass through the commercial terminal but through a dedicated one — the FBO (Fixed-Base Operator). No queues, no crowded gate: a private lounge, or often the car that drops you at the foot of the airstair.

You arrive around fifteen minutes before departure. Screening is discreet, bags are loaded by hand, and the aircraft waits for your pace, not the reverse. The table below sums up what, concretely, separates it from a scheduled flight.

On arrival, and everything around the flight

The aircraft lands, a car waits on the tarmac, the suite is ready, the evening table is held and the box at the weekend's great occasion is reserved for you. None of it is left to chance, because the flight was never the point — only the first move.

This is what sets TGZ apart from an air broker. Where a broker sells a flight hour and leaves you to assemble the rest, we hold the whole journey under a single point of contact: transfers, accommodation, tables, event access, security if it is needed. You coordinate nothing; you entrust.

A charter well handled is known by what you never see: no seam between the kerb you leave and the kerb you arrive at.

FAQ

The process — frequently asked

Often within hours, subject to aircraft availability. For a specific route, a particular aircraft or a busy period (major events, holidays), a few days' notice secures the best choice. Same-day departure remains possible when an aircraft is well positioned.

Four things are enough to begin: the origin, the destination, the date or dates, and the number of passengers. Your preferences — cabin, catering, a pet on board, a timing constraint — then refine the aircraft choice and the pricing.

It depends on how you fly, and there are several access models. On-demand charter is arranged flight by flight, with no aircraft to buy and no hours to pre-purchase; jet cards fix hours and rates for regular flyers; fractional and full ownership suit heavy, predictable use. The right model depends on how you fly — as your advisor, not tied to any single model, TGZ identifies the most relevant and arranges it through our global network.

About fifteen minutes before departure is enough. You use a private terminal (FBO), not the commercial hall: screening is quick and discreet, with no queue, and the aircraft leaves at your pace.

Through a private terminal, the FBO. It is a facility dedicated to business aviation, away from the commercial flows: a private lounge, immediate boarding, and often a car that sets you down at the foot of the airstair.

The journey continues without a break: ground transfer, accommodation, table, event access — all prepared in advance and coordinated by the same point of contact. The flight is only one stage of a door-to-door itinerary.
